The 80 miles of the Columbia River Gorge’s steep rocky sides offer some of the most spectacular scenery in the world: pounding waterfalls, eagles, century-old trees, ferns, flowers, ancient rocks. We offer two departures, both with varied terrain and about 900 ft (300 meter) elevation gain. The classic hike is focused around a Northwest Portland experience, and ends at the International Rose Test Garden (when in season), the Forest Park Experience at 9 a.m. We have limited 1:30 p.m. departures. Once weekly, we offer an afternoon hike that starts at Goose Hollow, through neighborhoods and up into the park (2:30 p.m.). Both pass iconic spots; Japanese Garden, Pittock Mansion, and Witch's Castle; but take a different approach to the forest.

The 85-mile (137-km) long Columbia Gorge NSA would be a national park if it weren't a critical transportation corridor. In the early 1900s, Portlanders would drive their Model T cars along the Columbia River Highway to gaze at waterfalls. It was the first scenic highway built in America. Immerse yourself in waterfall hiking in one of the most unique geologic formations in Oregon! Over the course of the three hours we are in the canyon, we will discovering South Falls' stunning amphitheater and history as the centerpiece of a failed attempt to become Oregon's first National Park. Portland is justly famous for both its craft roasted coffee and its doughy sweets -- ride and explore in a 4-6 mile bike tour. 10 a.m. daily. Bike, helmet, one doughnut and one coffee included!

At our shop at 833 SE Main Street #124, we are also in the literal center of Portland’s craft coffee roasting icons (three of the city’s best roasters surround our block).
We'll begin with coffee, tea or hot cocoa at a shop that roasts its own beans, and sample some single-origin coffee so we'll be ready for lots of sweets to come. The itinerary will vary based on shop hours and customer tastes, but we'll always tell the story of Voodoo Donuts. We'll always stop at at least two doughnut shops and one or two coffee shop depending on the group.
